Eagle Rock, California
Eagle Rock is a community of about 34,000 people, and is located between Pasadena and Glendale, off the 134 Freeway (also known as the Ventura Freeway). Eagle Rock got its name from a huge rock that resembles an eagle's beak, which can easily be seen to the north of the 134 Freeway. As part of the City of Los Angeles, Eagle Rock is served by the Los Angeles Police and Fire departments, as well as the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Eagle Rock was incorporated as a city in 1911, and became part of the City of Los Angeles in 1923. It has many architecturally significant and historic properties, including the beautiful campus of Occidental College, designed by architect Myron Hunt.
Eagle Rock has been a popular place to live for artists, writers, and filmmakers since the 1920s. It is still a popular filming choice for television and movies. Nearby attractions include Old Town Pasadena, Griffith Park, Universal Studios, and much more.
